Urban Digital Twin
A team project exploring an urban environment through CesiumJS. Buildings, roads, vehicles, and simulated weather come together in a browser-based 3D scene, connected to a Java backend.
The team project
The application combines a CesiumJS frontend with a Spring Boot backend and PostgreSQL storage. A STOMP WebSocket connection carries updates between the backend and the 3D scene.
My contribution
I contributed to the weather layer, including backend weather-grid data, temperature visualisation, clouds, and rain. My work also included frontend vehicle movement between road nodes and information panels for buildings and clouds.
From data to a visible system
The weather grid generates changing temperature, humidity, and pressure values for the simulation. This project uses simulated conditions rather than live weather measurements, making it a way to explore how application data can drive a changing spatial model.
Project access
Built collaboratively as part of a team project. The source repository is private; this page documents the project and my contribution.
